History Exhaustion

installation

"The traditional Marxist capitalism critique from the stand point of labor is plausible only in as far, as it relates to the liberal capitalism of the 19th century. Yet it is fundamentally inadequate as critical theory of the state-interventionist 'Fordist' configuration, which shaped a significant period of the 20th century, including the Soviet organization of society. ... From this perspective the Soviet-Communisms' collapse 1989-1991 doesn't designate the end of the socialist project, but the culmination of the declining Fordism that originated in the early 1970s and is grown to its definitive limits." (Moishe Postone, Zeit Arbeit und gesellschaftliche Herrschaft, 2003, S 11f., German edition, re-translated: FH.)
